Okay, so ooooooooooooh man. This was such a crazy experience for me. I'll try not to drag on so much though!
Basically, Art Battle is a competition across Canada where artists (12 in my session, professional and emerging) are put against each other and are given 20mins to paint whatever they want in front of a crowd of spectators. I was in Round 2 and I was basically a wreck. I'm not entirely confident in my art abilities (at least, before the end of the night) so I was psyching myself out.

So my turn came and I did my thing. I painted a girl as I had with all my practice paintings (which are for sale, and one is already sold~ ) and just went for it. I turned back every now and then to see the people, and they had their phones out and everything ; A ; So freaky! But the 20min ended and I got to run away and hug my family and bf. I was shaking it was so bad xD I was proud of myself though and was happy to be done... or so I thought

Voting was done and they moved on to announce the two finalist of Round 2 to join the finalist of Round 1. When I heard I had made it to the final round I almost cried out of fear. I hadn't prepared to make it to the final round! And I was against 3 pros! Needless to say I was a nervous wreck once more, and I only had 10mins to panic. But alas I went on and I just painted another girl. I wasn't nearly as happy with it as my first one, but it was still a lot of fun!

I didn't end up winning, but it was just an amazing moment for me. It gave me the confidence to keep painting, and that people would actually buy my paintings! I did end up selling both pieces at the show which was completely crazy! For 40mins of work I left with $55, which sounds great to me xD If only life could be that easy~
But on another note, I am selling the practice images! Click the image below to see what's still available
